Event Purpose & Objectives
As Namibia’s events industry continues to grow, safety legislation exists but is not always consistently followed or enforced. This gap creates unnecessary risk across the events value chain and highlights the need for stronger self-accountability among suppliers, organisers, venues and other key stakeholders. The purpose of the Event Safety & Standards Seminar was to address these challenges by raising awareness and encouraging a shared responsibility for safer event planning and delivery. The key objectives of the seminar were to:
• Promote greater understanding of event safety responsibilities.
• Share practical, applicable safety and standards guidance.
• Encourage accountability and informed decision-making across the industry.
• Support the delivery of safer, more professional events in Namibia.
